Anaerobic monitoring in aspetic area is relevant if you could have a strictly anaerobic environment. It is typically considered as an environment with less than 0.1% oxygen. If this is the case, the you must select a growth media that promotes growth of anaerobic microorganisms, like Fluid Thioglycollate Medium.
