What is difference between betalactum drug and general drug

Beta lactum drugs are derivatives of Penicillin and have beta lactum ring and rest of the drugs are known as general drugs.

Penicillin or betalactam drugs should be seperated in production area than other general drugs

Beta lactam drugs are the drugs which has beta lactam ring in it and this should be manufactured in separate location and not manufactured under same room with other drugs. This is because the Beta Lactum drugs shall cause allergic reactions with certain populations. Hence cGMP and FDA strongly suggest to segregate the manufacturing locations separately. Hope this helps
