Bowie Dick test is dynamic air removal test. Which ensures to remove the non sterile from chamber. If non sterile air remains inside the chamber it may cause improper sterilzation, and thus due to this chamber will not be uniform.
So this test is performed after VLT , to ensure air removal from chamber. This test contain Bowie Dick ( test kit ready to use) or test indicator sheet as recommended by the manufacturer instructions.
Bowie Dick test contain 7 +/- 0.700 kg/ cm2 .
Placement of test above cold spots or drain point at a hight of 100-200 mm.
After successful completion of sterilzation cycle Bowie Dick test sheet shows uniform colour change.
This test is also called indicated test.
