Validate the growth yeast and mold on Soybean casein digest agar against Sabouraud Dextrose Agar -to use only one media (SCDA) for Environmental monitoring

Hi All,

I am looking for some reference to validate the growth yeast and mold on Soybean casein digest agar against Sabouraud Dextrose Agar -to use only one media (SCDA) for Environmental monitoring .

Please share if any protocols available.

Validation doesn’t require any reference, validation is done for reference means validation itself is a reference.
Grow some fungal strains on both SDA and SCDA and check the result. If both show similar results then you can use it for reference and start using only SCDA plates for environmental monitoring.
But here is one more problem, both need to incubate at different temperatures, and how you will incubate the same plate at different temperatures.

sir one more question, can we use SDA plates instead of SCDA plates.?

SDA plates supports the growth of Yeast and Molds more than bacterial.
Where as SCDA supports both.
