Every test in Stability analysis has some scientific rationale. All tests in stability analysis determines the degradation of product under various environmental conditions along with container closure system.
Depends on the medicinal form on stability.
For example if the product is a tablet the following tests are recommended:
Friability
Color,
odor
Moisture absorption
Disintegration time
Dissolution profile
Hardness
Appearance (soft and ugly
or become very hard)
