Significant Change Criteria is applicable to all three states i.e. Long term, Intermediate and Accelerated.
The reason why the Intermediate stage was introduced, was , in case, you have a Significant Change in Accelerated study data, Data from the intermediate stage can be used.
Same is the case with long term studies.
