Solvent penetration in tab also result in fil cracking.
Practically i have faced a problem when we coat tab at low temp sol penetration inside tab increse and when these tab r dried at higher temp cracks occur
during coating if solvent penetration increases inside tab the hardness of tab will increase or decreased?
tab hardness will be increased
what are used as solvent?
Following organic solvents
IPA
methanol
Dichloro
Methylene Choride etc
And water
Prefeferebly water should be used acc to ASHARA guidlines
tablet hardness will increase in both case (organic solvent and water)?
solvent used should b safe for enviornment and operator
if we dont use proper drying temp n sol penetration increass then in both cases hardness decrease
Coating with water is called aqueous coating.and aqueous coating is more critical then org.bcz org sol easily evapurates but water at higher temp

how we can increase solvent penetration?
By increasing spray rate and decreasing drying temp.
in this case sol evepuration is not proper and penetration increases.in case of moisture sensitive drugs like aspirine this penetration then degrades the drug

hardness increase after penetration if we dry the tablets.but at low temp when penetration increases hardness decreaes
to undrstand this take example of a tab outside blister.
these tab when take moisture become soft
it means first of all low temperature is used for proper penetration then high temperature is used for hardness.
