Sampling time in cleaning validation

Hello expert,

I am rewriting our company Cleaning validation SOP. In the previous SOP, my ex-colleagues write:

  • For chemical residue tests: Sample will be taken immediately after finishing cleaning or not more than 12 hours after cleaning.
  • For microbial tests: Sample will be taken immediately after finishing cleaning or not more than 6 hours after cleaning.

I don’t know where these numbers come from. Could you please give any guidelines for this case?

I think these time frames are added to facilitate the QA deparatment. It will be better to sample the equipment immediately after the cleaning.

its depend on your cleaning hold time & dirty hold time period. Within that time period, any time u can take micro & chemical swab.
