Residual Solvents

Why is GC used to analyse residual solvents instead of HPLC?

GC having ability to effectively separate and detect volatile compounds rather than HPLC.
In GC, sample has to be heated to vaporize all the residual solvents, where as in HPLC it is not possible to detect the solvents in PPM level and separation of peaks also not possible
