Currently we are performing surface swab method as part of environmental monitoring. we are planing to replace it with active air sampling as it is a non sterile plant. So can u people suggest me, what we have to do for changing the method. is there any validation required for this?
I am also working in a non-sterile plant. I see my colleagues use both air sampling and swab methods to monitor the production environment:
Surface: take samples at ceiling, wall and floor using swab method, but now we change the sampling location to wall, door and finger-tip and take samples using contact plate.
Microorganism in the air: we are using air sampler and settle plate methods.
This reply might not directly answer your question, I just share my experience and hope this help.
