Reagent Expiry Labeling

We recently had our biannual GCLP Assessment. We received a finding for not having newly assigned expiry dates on opened reagents (Cell Culture Water & DPBS). We had labeled each bottle with an opened date (signing and dating) and were using the expiry date supplied by the manufacturer.

I didn’t see any requirements stating a newly generated expiry date is required upon opening a new reagent.

Can anyone shed some light on this finding?

Thanks:)

Of course you need. I should say it is a reasonable finding.

The expiry date supplied by the manufacturer is just needed for unopened reagent in original bottle. And another exp. date is required once opened.
