Can any one tell procedure for optical inspection of dry powder vials??? Only one background is used??
Optical inspection of dry powder vials are done through nylon roller conveyor.vials rotate on white color roller and seal defect can be detected by background mirror.
Reconstitution test is also performed to check foreign particles.

Optical inspection of dry powder vials is feasible, but it’s harder than liquid inspection because defects are subtle. Issues like caking, powder stuck to vial walls, foreign particles, or glass chips require carefully controlled lighting and multiple viewing angles. Static imaging alone usually fails rotation or vibration helps expose hidden defects. In practice, vision systems work best as a screening tool, passing clearly good vials and flagging only suspicious ones for human review. This reduces fatigue and improves consistency without removing operator judgment. Modern AI-based approaches, such as those used by SwitchOn, are increasingly effective when trained on real production defects.
