Microbial Enumeration Test for Non- sterile

Please help, Is it possible to have zero growth in TAMC when testing Non sterile products?

Some times I was also found that their is no growth upon successful incubation of plates, in this case it might possible that,

  1. Product itself has antimicrobial property
  2. Growth is inhibited by antimicrobial agents
    or preservatives.
  3. Their is possibility of pH drift or increase
    which altimately affect on growth of
    bacteria.
  4. Due to pouring of very hot media the
    possible count was affected.
    The last but not least is that: Bacteria may
    I presentequire prolonged incubation
    period.
    In such case we prefer to write Less than
    10 CFU per gram/ml.
