Karlfisher titration

Dear all,
For water content determination sample quantity not mentioned in work sheet or STP/MOA how much quantity should be taken for analysis? Is any formula for calculating the sample weight?

The factor of Karl Fischer reagent as a titrant (in burette) is generally 1 ml of KF reagent = 5 mg of water. Hence please adjust the sample quantity for titration so that you will get about 5 to 10 ml reading in titration (as burette reading). This is required to get good accuracy of water determination results.

Of course, everytimeyou will have to srandardise KF reagent to get accurate factor.

Then you follow your General test procedure…
