Is IQ required for deployment of a software / code (not equipment)?
Depending on the criticality the extent of software validation will vary greatly. But IQ, yes always. Even if it is as simple as documenting proper installation, version no etc.

IQ is always required to prove that the application is installed as per the defined criteria. With that being said, if your application is hosted on the cloud and the vendor is providing you access to it, you may have to leverage vensor’s doc.
