How to perform the hold time validation of the neutralizing solution for deactivation of Beta-lactam exposed articles.
The query is regarding, once the solution is prepared, till how much time this solution can be used.
Generally, neutralising solution for deactivation of Beta-lactum products is weak alkali aqueous solution lsuch as Sodium carbonate. For validating its holding period, we can check it’s activity periodically by performing TLC experiments of reaction mixture (Thin layer chromatography) to detect whether Beta-lactum ring is broken or not in presence of deactivating solution.This will be the determining factor for hold time study and it’s validation.
