Why the Lubricated granules or Softgel caps medicaments given minimum days hold time… But not for the same compressed and encapsulated capsule…why ? please explain
Generally lubricated granules have tendancy to absorb moisture. Therefore, lubricated granules if hold for longer time may loose the characteristics desired for compression. And there could be problems during compression in to tablets. While once the tablets are compressed and ready after coating, the risk due to environmental conditions impact is relatively lower. However, it depends upon the stability of the tablets.
Similarly, once the medicament is encapsulated in the softgel capsules there is low risk of degradation of medicament due to atmospheric conditions.
