Common AHU for airlocks

If three comression cubicles having provided with seperate AHU suppy… then can we use another common AHU supply in respective airlocks of that three compression cubcles?

Yes, you can use a common AHU supply for individual Airlocks of three compression cubicles, provided the following conditions,

  • The Airlocks will have positive air pressure (+++) as compared to the compression cubicles (++).
    This should be demonstrated through air-flow pattern tests during AHU Validation studies.
  • However, it is always advisable to have a separate air supply to the individual Airlock and its respective compression cubicle. This is to ensure that there is no cross-contamination when three different types of tablet products are under compression simultaneously.

AHU-1 for compression cubicle-1 & Airlock-1
AHU-2 for compression cubicle-2 & Airlock-2
AHU-3 for compression cubilcle-3 & Airlock-3
