How many swaps should-be taken to determine cleaning hold time for any machine and how can we calculate the days after cleaning
After cleaning of the equipment as per SOP, the swab samples should be taken from the most difficult parts to clean and from normal contact surfaces of equipment. The swab samples should be tested for chemical and microbiological aspects. Both types of swabs should be taken- one set for chemical analysis, and the other set for microbiology testing.
It is suggested to take swab samples every day basis until the last day of the hold time to be established.
Hold time should be decided based on the Microbiological and chemical results of the swab samples. Usually, there will not be any change in the results of chemical analysis of swab samples.
