How to check BD and TD of any product??

Bulk density is determined by placing known amount of substance (powder form) in a glass measuring cylinder ensuring its uniform distribution. And carefully measure the volume occupied by the substance. Calculate the bulk density by the following formula.
Bulk density as g/mL(Un-tapped) = Weight of substance in g / Volume occupied in mL
Now, tap the measuring on a smooth surface for specified number of strokes (usually 50 to 100 strokes). This is usually performed on electrically opearted Bulk density apparatus. Now note the volume of substance occupied in the measurring cylinder. Calculate the “Tapped Bulk density” using the same formulas as above. You can refer any pharmacopeia General test procedures.
