Benzyl Alcohol Content Analysis by LC

Is it assumed that if you are testing for Benzyl alcohol content that you should also have a method capable of detecting benzaldehyde content? Would this be expected from the authorities when submitting?

Benzyl alcohol can be estimated by HPLC method not necessarily by LC

Dear Michael,

Benzyl alcohol must be your preservative so estimation of this is sufficient by employing any technique which is validated. If at all benzaldehyde control is required and asked from the accessor you can have an alternate method which can be validated and submitted. But in relation to your preservative content it is not required.
