Assay of vitamins

In some official/pharmacopoeia preparations upper limits for content of vitamins are given, but irrespective of that, can we add excess vitamins to enhance the stability of products? And what if, the overages cross the upper limits.
Any reference for this plz share.

Yes, you can add overages of vitamins to compensate for loss on storage during product shelf life according to the limits prescribed in one of the schedules as specified in the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and rules there under 1945.

Thank you sir

It’s my pleasure.
Please refer Schedule “V” - Standards for patent or proprietary medicines in the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 of India.
