Air Sampling in Microbiology

Why we select 1000 lit. Volume in doing Air Sampling?

@Murfy The number of collected C.F.U. on the agar surface, after incubation, should be easily countable (up to
200 C.F.U.). Therefore the most common volumes are 100-300 litres in normal environments (high contamination) and 1000 litres in Clean Room (low contamination).

Hi, the USP recommend to take from 500 to 1000 Lt for air sampling. Also the air sampler equipment manual provide some guides on the amount of liters to be taken based on the contamination of the room in terms of levels established.
