If any machine installed in area is not in use for long time then is it required to maintain cleaning record of machine in equipment usage log record.
you can discontinue practice of cleaning and maintaining record through change control procedure. to support your practice you have to evaluate the future aspects related to use, impact for existing area and other operation in area, proper packing of m/c (consider as covering).
if possible or portable then remove the m/c from area. because
21 CFR 211.67(a) states that “Equipment and utensils shall be cleaned, maintained, and sanitized at
appropriate intervals to prevent malfunctions or contamination that would alter the safety, identity, strength,
quality, or purity of the drug product beyond the official or other established requirements.”
