Required quality of water used in Accuracy of drying test mentioned in this SOP for calibration of Halogen Moisture Analyzer

What is the required quality of water used in Accuracy of drying test mentioned in this SOP for calibration of Halogen Moisture Analyzer ?

Is Purified water sufficient or must be Distilled water ?

Also ,

2- What is the drying temperature for this Accuracy of drying test?

3- What is the drying time ?

4- Isn’t 0.2 g of water too small for the test, my information is that many moisture analyzers have minimum sample weight of 0.5 g , also my information that using such small sample weights reduces repeatability of moisture content test results (increases random error) ?

  1. You should use distilled water but purified water will not have a considerable effect on results.
  2. Where is it in SOP?
  3. Where is it in SOP?
  4. Most of the moisture balance has 0.000 gm display and has 1 mg least count. There is no problem to take 0.2 gm sample for analysis.

2- Accuracy of drying test in the SOP does not specify drying temperature.

3- Accuracy of drying test in the SOP does not specify drying time.

4- My little experience with moisture balances which have 1 mg least count that they show error message after pushing the start button if original sample weight is less than 0.5 g
